We are pleased to announce….

The winning pipe band, with 507 votes, is the Evansville Firefighters Pipe & Drum Corps of Evansville, Indiana. For their efforts, they will receive certificates for two sterling silver rings with 14k gold raised borders to be used in any fund raising effort chosen by the band.  The value of these rings is $300 to $350 each for a total of $600 to $700 CAD (approximately $550 to $640 US).

In second place, after holding a commanding lead for most of the contest, is the Celtic Eagle Pipe Band of Akron, Ohio  with 384 votes. For their efforts, we have decided to add to the second place prize and reward them with two certificates for sterling silver rings with 14k gold raised borders as well instead of just one.

We trust that the winning pipe bands will benefit from these donations and thank all participating bands and voters for their support. We hope that all who voted continue to support their local pipe bands in the future.

Thanks to everyone who made this contest a success!!! We look forward to our next contest which will start within a few months. This next contest will benefit a couple of Celtic organizations. We are aiming at a start date of November 1 but that will depend on how fast we complete our link section. More information will be posted on our website as it becomes available.

The Prize

The pipe band with the most votes will receive certificates for two sterling silver rings with 14k gold raised borders.  The value of these rings is $300 to $350 each for a total of $600 to $700 Cdn depending on the design and size (*approximate values in other currencies can be found by using our currency converter). The certificates can be used as a single prize or they can be awarded as two separate prizes in any fundraising effort to be decided upon by the winning band.

PRIZE ADDED - The pipe band with the second most votes will receive a certificate for one sterling silver ring with 14k gold raised borders (value of $300 to $350 Cdn).

Certificates will be valid for one year from the closing date of the contest (valid to August 31, 2010). The certificates can also be used towards the purchase of 14k gold rings, if the winner so wishes. If this option is chosen, each certificate will be valued at $300 Cdn. The certificates cannot be combined to purchase one ring.
