Two prehistoric sites built by the Celts where spirals can be found are
Brugh na Boinne, or Newgrange, which has kerb stones bearing double and
triple spiral ornamentation, and Tara, the royal inauguration site for
ancient high kings of Ireland. The spiral carvings in the interior of the
passage tomb on Fourknocks Hill in the vicinity of the Hill of Tara can
still be seen today.
