"The Silent Ones" tells the tale through
song of the tragedy and triumph of the migration of 109 families from the isle
of Lewis in Scotland's Outer Hebrides to the backwoods of 19th century Upper
Canada. The Lewis emigrants were evicted from their crofts in 1851,
victims of the Highland Clearances. Angus Macleod is a direct descendant of the
Lewis Settlers and this project was a life-long dream and took three years to
complete.
